Today I’m grabbing my passport, my carry-on, teaching notes, my favorite teaching Bible, props, my Kindle, and VITAMINS (I’m going to be tired!) and I’m heading to the airport! So much that I love is coming together in a beautiful collision: teaching God’s word, ministering to women, serving cross-culturally, working against human trafficking, working with missionaries, and so much more! I have the privilege of going back to Romania to teach at a women’s leadership conference. I’ll be teaching through the book of Ephesians: Christ & Community. I’m very excited! I’m blessed to have a friend traveling with me, and together we will also represent our church at the wedding of a national friend. We even get to stay with the family of the bride! It’s going to be my first ever Romania wedding, and I’m told I should be elegant and prepared to stay up until wee hours. 🙂 (The elegant part could be challenging, especially when I’m jet lagged …) I’m praying I will fall asleep immediately after we are served dinner on the overnight trans-Atlantic flight. (Confession: I really do love airplane food!) I plan to wake up in time to have a bagel and a coffee in Munich, before getting on another flight! (And we know things go as planned, right?)
In addition to the wedding festivities, we’ll have the chance to visit Deborah House. I’m excited to be sharing with the girls there on the day we land (yawn!) and then spending Sunday with them. On Monday morning, we’ll drive about 5 hours up into the Transylvanian Mountains (Yes … Dracula) where we will meet an amazing group of women for the Leadership Conference. They humble me. Please pray for me and my friend Carol to be used to share God’s word well, for His Spirit to act mightily, and us to minister effectively to this dear group.
Then, (brace yourself … I’ve always wanted to say this …) I will fly in from Europe for my book signing. 😉 Yes, you read that right! I’m pretty sure that’s the only time I’ll ever get to say that! Crazy, huh? Only God could set that up. I will have a book signing for the Chicken Soup for the Soul: Multitasking Mom’s Survival Guide at a Kroger Marketplace on Saturday morning (I hope I’m awake and alert) before Mothers Day. And I do hope someone (or two or three) comes, so if you’re in the area, I’d love to have you stop by. In the event that no one comes, I will nervously study the health and beauty products.
I appreciate your prayers as Carol and I take off. Please keep our families in your prayers. I’ll look forward to sharing when we return. Check in with the Come Have a Peace Facebook page for pictures, in case we are surprised with free moments & internet service. May God be honored in our days with our brothers and sisters in Christ in Eastern Europe. It will be a little foretaste of HEAVEN!
